Grants to
attend 2008 Global Investigative Journalism Conference
Investigative journalists from Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Middle
East, Asia, Africa and Latin America are invited to apply for grants to
cover their travel and stay at the 2008 Global Investigative Journalism
Conference in Lillehammer, Norway, holding September 11 to 14.
Between
400 and 500 of the world's best investigative reporters are expected to
attend the conference, whose main focus will be on journalistic work
methods, from how to balance patience with deadlines to effective ways
of getting in touch with sources.
Journalists who are willing to show and share their experiences and work
through presentations at the conference are especially welcome to apply
for a grant.
The conference is funded by Norway's Foreign Ministry and the Norwegian
Foundation for Investigative Journalism (SKUP).
To apply, interested journalists should email their CV, a summary of
their work in investigative journalism, and personal references,
particularly if they are from national or international journalism NGOs,
to:
gijc2008@gmail.com.
Conference organisers hope to have selected all recipients by the end of
April 2008 to ensure enough time for visa applications.
