Society of
Environmental Journalists (SEJ) Awards
The Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) is calling for entries
for its awards for reporting on the environment from journalists
internationally. The contest honours work that has appeared in
newspapers, magazines, newsletters, and online services, as well as from
radio and television. There is now a category for books, also. The work
will be honoured in nine categories, each with a US$1000 prize.
Submitted work must have been aired or published between March 1 2007
and February 29 2008, with the exception of books. Book publication
dates must be between January 1 and December 1 2007. Participants do not
need to be SEJ members or environment specialist to enter. Reporters who
cover health, politics, science, energy, local government or any other
beat are encouraged to enter their work on environmental subjects.
Students may enter work that was published or broadcast in a media
outlet accessible to the general public. SEJ welcomes entries from
outside the United States, but non-English entries must be accompanied
by a complete and accurate English translation.
The deadline for application is April 1 2008.
