Patricia Effiong is a Programme Officer and the Abuja Representative of Media Rights Agenda, based in the Federal Capital Territory.
Patricia has worked on anti-corruption, climate change, freedom of information, gender equality and human rights issues and has competence and qualifications in programme management, advocacy, and public relations.
She is passionate about the rights of poor and excluded groups, especially young people and women. She also has experience of working in inclusive governance initiatives, especially how to include the citizens in governance processes through citizens engagement at all levels. She has been involved in democratic governance, conflict and peace building with a particular focus on how young people can be agents of change in their societies.
Patricia holds a Bachelors’ degree in Human Kinetics and Health Education and is a Fredrich Ebert Stiftung Open Minds Young Voices Fellow. She has been involved in advocacy activities as well as project planning and development, project management, monitoring and evaluation, events management, among others and has worked with national and international organizations in these areas. She is responsible for coordinating Media Rights Agenda’s activities and operations in Abuja, helping to organize and implement projects and events, ensuring the organization’s visibility among key constituencies and stakeholders in the Federal Capital Territory, and serving as the organization’s representative.
