Segun Ayodeji Fatuase is a seasoned journalist, biographer and press freedom advocate with an eye on media development, access to information and freedom of expression.
As the Project Director of Media Rights Agenda, he is actively engaged in putting his experience, spanning over 37 years in broadcast, print and online media to use in the monitoring and reportage of relevant issues as well as the planning and implementation of projects and programmes.
He is involved in the production and editing of MRA’s publications as well as in the implementation of its projects, including research and advocacy activities, campaign and public enlightenment, training and capacity-building programmes as well as monitoring of attacks on the media and freedom of expression.
Segun, a graduate of English studies from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife in Nigeria, is a content creator, versed in keeping track of press freedom and freedom of expression issues. He is also actively involved in the collation, compilation and reporting cases of attacks on journalists and acts of impunity against media professionals.
He is a key actor in ensuring visibility and prominence both online and offline, to the activities, programmes and events of Media Rights Agenda.
He has attended many courses including Media Monitoring on Access to Justice; Investigative Reporting organized by Freedom House, New York and numerous training programmes organized and conducted by Media Rights Agenda.
