The Virtual School of Internet Governance (VSIG), a free multi-module Massive Open Online Courseware (MOOC) dedicated to the key pillars of Internet Governance, is now open for applications for its 13th English cohort starting on September 9, 2025. Designed for post-secondary students, digital rights advocates, professionals, and Internet Governance fellows, the course offers a deep dive into the fundamentals of Internet Governance.
Designed for post-secondary students, digital rights advocates, professionals, and Internet Governance fellows, this course offers a deep dive into the fundamentals of Internet Governance. Delivered through the MOODLE platform with live weekly sessions, the course covers ten core modules, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, legal frameworks, human rights, and emerging technologies. Participants are expected to commit 4 to 6 hours per module over the course of ten weeks and will engage with expert-led discussions, interactive forums, quizzes, and downloadable resources.
Upon successful completion of all course requirements, including active participation and a minimum score of 80% on quizzes, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and become part of the VSIG global alumni network. The programme is open to learners from all regions, with a focus on inclusivity and participation from emerging economies.
The course includes ten comprehensive modules on Internet Governance, access to global experts and weekly live chat sessions, and downloadable resources, interactive discussions, and a supportive learning community.
