The United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) will host the 2014 International Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) from December 15 to 17, 2014 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. The theme for the conference is, “Re-enchanting the World with the Post-2015 Development Agenda”.

The conference which is a collaboration between NGOs and UNESCO provides a welcome opportunity to examine collective actions carried out by NGOs in 2013 and 2014 and adopt the main lines of collective cooperation for 2015 and 2016.

The Conference brings together the NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO every two years. It is a key forum in which UNESCO’s official NGO partners meet and hold discussions, its primary purpose being to review the state of cooperation with UNESCO and facilitate cooperation between organizations having common interests.

The Conference is intended primarily for NGOs in official partnership with the Organization. However, representatives of Member States, foundations in official relations with UNESCO, other NGOs and/or other interested organizations may attend the Conference as observers.
