Internet society will hold its eighth edition of the African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AFPIF) in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire from August 22 to 24, 2017. It is also seeking for presentation contributions the event as well as sessions conveners and panel sessions chairs and speakers.
The 3-day forum will focus on developing Internet interconnection and traffic exchange opportunities by bringing together key players – infrastructure providers, Internet service providers (ISPs), Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), content producers and providers, data center operators, and policy-makers and regulators – to advance the peering ecosystem in Africa.
The forum will target executives, Chief Technology Officers, peering coordinators and business development managers from the African region, Internet service providers and operators, telecommunications policy-makers and regulators, content providers, Internet exchange point (IXP) operators, infrastructure providers, data center managers, National Research and Education Networks (NRENs), carriers and transit providers, and [international financial organizations].
The 2017 edition is planned as a non-profit event and international sponsorship and support have been sought to convene the event.
The AfPIF-2017 Programme Committee is also seeking contributions for presentations and panels for the event; as well as individuals who will participate in the conference sessions as speakers and deliver commercial and technical tutorials, convene and chair panel sessions.
The Committee has asked interested contributors to submit draft slides to it for revision adding that all draft and complete slides must be submitted in PDF format only.
