Accountability Lab Nigeria, a non-governmental-organisation which works to promote accountability, transparency and open government, is inviting Nigerians nationwide to nominate public servants who demonstrate responsible leadership, transparency, and unwavering commitment to public service for its 2026 Integrity Icon awards.

The initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Foundation and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, is designed to recognise and celebrate government officials whose conduct strengthens public trust and accountability within Nigeria’s institutions.

The Integrity Icon Nigeria campaign, established in 2017, has honoured over 40 exemplary public servants whose everyday actions counter the narrative that ethical leadership is uncommon in Nigeria’s governance space. By leveraging storytelling and public engagement, the programme highlights role models who reflect honesty, professionalism, and citizen-focused service delivery.

Amid ongoing national conversations on governance and accountability, Accountability Lab Nigeria noted that the campaign plays a critical role in rebuilding confidence between citizens and public institutions.

Accountability Lab Nigeria stated that the nomination process is citizen-led, encouraging broad participation and ownership. Nigerians are urged to nominate deserving public servants across sectors, including health, education, security, finance, procurement, and other areas of public administration, who have demonstrated ethical conduct and exceptional dedication to community service.

The organisation noted that by amplifying stories of integrity, the campaign seeks to reward ethical leadership, inspire behavioural change across public institutions, and foster a culture where accountability becomes the norm rather than the exception.

All nominations will be subjected to a rigorous and transparent vetting process to ensure fairness and credibility before the final five Integrity Icons for 2026 are selected and celebrated at the national level.

Nominations for the 2026 Integrity Icon Nigeria Awards will close on April 30, 2026.
