The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) with support of the National Endowment for Democracy’s (NED) International Forum for Democratic Studies will host a workshop with the theme “China’s influence on African media” on February 22 and 23, 2018 in Accra.

The workshop is borne out of China’s growing economic presence on the African continent through its involvement in international state media, relationships with African media professionals, and investments in African countries’ media infrastructure which has attracted significant attention from news media, academia, and the policy making community.

The workshop aims to further explore the nature of China’s growing economic presence on the African continent and its potential political impact in a diverse array of the African contexts.

The two-day roundtable discussion will feature insights from journalists, media professionals, activists, and scholars based on the African continent, as well as from experts on Chinese foreign policy and other participants whose perspectives are relevant to these issues.
