2017 Allard Prize Photography Competition Promotes Human Rights Issues and Anti-Corruption Efforts

The Allard Prize Photography Competition, one of the world’s largest prizes dedicated to the fight against corruption and the protection of human rights, is calling for entries that depict corruption and human rights violations in the developed world.

The Allard Prize, awarded biennially, recognizes photographic excellence and reflects the ideals of the Allard Prize for International Integrity which is awarded to an individual, movement or organization that has demonstrated exceptional courage and leadership in combating corruption, especially through promoting transparency, accountability and the Rule of Law.

Photographers are encouraged to submit entries year-round which reflect themes of courage and leadership in combating corruption, especially through promoting transparency, accountability and the rule of law, and of human rights and/or anti-corruption generally.

The Allard Prize Committee will select up to six photographs as winners. Each winning entrant will receive CAD1,000 (US$747). Winners will be selected by the Allard Prize Committee and Maxe Fisher, Associate Professor, Faculty of Design + Dynamic Media, Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

The winning Entrant(s) will be contacted by the Allard Prize with instructions on how to claim the prize. Deadline for submission of entries is May 1, 2017.
