The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) will play host in Amsterdam, Netherlands, to one of the largest annual global trade exhibitions for the news publishing and media industry, the World Publishing Expo 2014.

The global trade exhibition will take place at the RAI Exhibition Center in Amsterdam on October 13 to 15, 2014. The Expo will feature a variety of conferences and seminars focusing on the major issues of concern to newspaper and news publishing executives globally. Some of the events at the Expo will be free while others will be paid events.

More than 100 speakers and presenters out of more than 8000 decision-makers in the news publishing sector will be featured in the three-day Expo.

The free events will be held on “Media Port” stages scattered throughout the Expo, will feature collaborations between publishers and suppliers and will provide case studies of strategies and practices that can help publishers address contemporary issues. Other stages will be dedicated to Content, Revenue and Print Business and also a Digital Print Pavilion.

The paid events are for top-level industry executives and editors and will discuss strategies for the future of news publishing. These include the 7th Tablet and App Summit and the 12th International Newsroom Summit. These events will be joined for the first time by a World Printers Forum conference that will give both newspaper production professionals and suppliers a place to gather and exchange ideas, create standards and develop strategies for the future of print.

According to WAN-IFRA’s Director of Global Events, Manfred Werfel, “The World Publishing Expo team is looking forward to welcoming and bringing together more than 8,000 publishers and decision-makers, and 300 suppliers in the media industry to the largest meet-up of the news publishing industry”.

The last World Publishing Expo was held from October 7 to 9 , 2013 at the Berlin Expo Center in Berlin, Germany where about 150 speakers made different presentations. The Expo is one of the world’s best venues for showcasing the latest developments in print, workflow efficiency, social-local-mobile and revenue generation.
