APAI Working Group to Hold Meeting, Elect New Chair

The African Platform on Access to Information (APAI) Working Group will hold its next meeting in Kampala, Uganda on March 5 and 6, 2016, during which it will elect a new chair. The meeting is among other things aimed at reviewing the working group’s activities for 2016, discuss APAI’s engagement in the United Nations and the African Union and in the World Press Freedom Day, allocate roles and responsibilities for 2016, discuss strategies for promoting September 28 – International Day for Universal Access to Information and broadening the scope of APAI interventions to include ‘Internet Governance’.

The APAI Working Group include: Gabriella Razzano of ODAC (Chairperson); Gilbert Sendugwa of AFIC, Edetaen Ojo of MRA, Gabriel Baglo of IFJ Africa, Henry Maina of ARTICLE 19, Fatou Jagne OF ARTICLE 19, Sulemana Braimah of MFWA, Zoe Titus of MISA and Sara Brombart of FES.

At the meeting, The Working Group would also be electing a new Chair.
