The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA), formerly known as the CompTIA Community, an independent nonprofit representing the technology industry worldwide, has unveiled a new grantmaking programme that supports non-profits and schools using technology to expand opportunity, particularly in underserved communities.

GTIA’s expanded philanthropic efforts will channel $1.5 million in grants for 2025, a significant increase driven by a strong endowment following its separation from CompTIA. Its grant programme marks a meaningful expansion of its philanthropic reach, combining increased financial capacity with a focus on sustainable, tech-forward solutions that promote equity and opportunity in communities that need it most.

The grant focuses on scalable, tech-driven solutions addressing issues that include broadband and affordable internet access; digital skills training; AI-powered tutoring tools; tech-enabled telehealth services; and technology infrastructure support.

Registered nonprofits or schools in good standing, organisations with strong leadership, clear mission, and demonstrable, sustainable impact and entities able to meet GTIA’s legal and reporting requirements are eligible to apply for the grants.

Note that at ChannelCon 2025, GTIA awarded $50,000 to Black Lemonade, a Nashville-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering underserved youth through tech-enabled learning, mentorship, and access, including overcoming barriers like transportation.

In the member-directed giving stream, GTIA awarded $420,000 to over 20 nonprofits across global regions, nearly tripling 2024’s figures. Recipients include Girls Who Code (NYC), TeenTech (London), Engineering Good (Singapore), and many others focused on coding education, STEM equity, and rural tech access.

While the programme is not member-nominated, GTIA encourages members to refer nonprofits they know and indicate their member company in the application.

Applicants can submit applications via GTIA’s online form by first creating an account at https://tinyurl.com/bp5574bv.

Submissions of applications close by September 15, 2025, and successful applicants will be notified by November 2025.
