Armed Men Invade Radio Station in Anambra State, Injure Staff

Gunmen attacked the state-owned Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Awada, Onitsha station in the early hours of May 30, 2022, during which they brutalised some staff members they met on duty and burnt down a building along with two vehicles in the premises.

The gunmen attacked the ABS offices at about 4.30am, according to the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Deputy Superintendent Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the attack in a statement.

Although no life was lost as a result of the incident, the gunmen reportedly the station’s workers who were on night duty and inflicted varying degrees of injury on them.

The gunmen burnt one of the radio station buildings, a company bus, and another vehicle belonging to a staff of ABS.
