The Norbert Zongo National Press Centre (CNP-NZ), the Norbert Zongo Cell for Investigative Journalism in West Africa (CENOZO) and Médias & Démocratie (M&D) are calling for nominations for the African Prize for Investigative Journalism Norbert Zongo (PAJI-NZ).
Established in 2007, the Norbert ZONGO Prize has been awarded to the best investigative journalists in Africa, on the occasion of the International Festival of Freedom of Expression and Press (FILEP) which holds every two years in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The award recognizes the best work in investigative journalism in Africa. Categories include print, online, radio and television. For the first 2021 edition of PAJI-NZ, eligible entries are works that have been published or broadcast between May 3, 2019 and May 3, 2021.
The award which comes in four categories: written press, Online press, Radio and Television with the SEBGO D’OR (The best of the 4 PAJI-NZ) awarded to the best of them.
Submissions for PAJI-NZ must be in French, English or Arabicand sent by mail to the following address: cnpnzongo@gmail.com and the original by mail to: CNP-NZ and CENOZO – 04 BP 8524 Ouagadougou 04 / Burkina Faso, Tel +226 25344189.
Nominations should include the following files:
- A declaration of candidacy drawn up on plain paper with full indication of the candidate’s identity (surname, first names, pseudonym or pen name used);
- A certificate from the organ confirming its membership or collaboration with the editorial staff of the press organ which published its work;
- A curriculum vitae with the candidate’s photo;
- A written declaration signed by the candidate authorizing the organizers of the PAJI-NZ Prize to use his/her name, voice, images and the elements submitted if it is awarded, without any compensation and in all media, for advertising purposes / in the public relations or information about the Prize.
The deadline for submission of applications is September 15, 2021.
