The Center for Health Journalism at the University of Southern California in the United States has launched a special webinar series on covering coronavirus, which will provide tips, resources and insights about the COVID-19 pandemic.

The webinar will focus on helping reporters find health sources and affected people online, through social platforms and digital communities, with an emphasis on hard-to-reach and marginalized communities.

It will be led by Amara Aguilar, a USC Annenberg Journalism School expert on digital journalism and will also delve into verification and practical engagement tools reporters can use while maintaining social distancing. This session will provide live, hands-on experience with at least three tools and provide more resources for health reporters working remotely.

The webinars will take place at 1 p.m. EDT.  The upcoming one is “A top reporter’s daily routine” on April 8, followed by “Life and death decisions” on April 15 and “Street reporting without the street” on April 22, 2020.

Registration is ongoing and free.
