Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Audio Competition Opens

Applications are invited from all over the world for entries to the Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation 2017 Competition in audio which includes podcasts and radio features.

In its third edition, the Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition will honor the best audio work produced worldwide between July 2015 and July 2017.

The awards are available in various categories including the best documentary, directors’ choice, best new artist, radio impact, best news feature and the Skylarking Award. There will also a best documentary category to recognise work produced in a language other than English.

Entries should range between 3 and 60 minutes in length, with the exception of news feature submissions, which cannot exceed 12 minutes.

Winners will receive between US$1,000 and US$4,000 in prizes, a license for Hindenburg Journalist Pro editing software and a free pass to the Third Coast Festival taking place from November 9 to 11, 2017 in Chicago.

The deadline for submission of entries is July 11 while the application fees range from US$35 to US$75. Those interested are encouraged to register by June 13 to receive the discount rate.

The Competition has celebrated the best audio storytelling produced worldwide and has honored over 130 extraordinary works from four continents. It has bestowed $250,000 in cash prizes to many of the most innovative producers in radio and podcasts.
