Continental Reinsurance, a composite reinsurer offering capacity and services across the full spectrum of Non-Life and Life business lines, is accepting entries from journalists for the 11th edition of its Pan-African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards, Africa’s leading platform celebrating excellence in insurance, risk, and resilience reporting.

Launched in 2015, the Awards seek to recognise the outstanding work of journalists on re/insurance from across the continent.

Entries are expected from entrants who can demonstrate how their articles have advanced the understanding of the re/insurance sector in Africa. Applicants will be rewarded with the knowledge that they are playing a vital role in uplifting societies and promoting progress among communities across Africa.

Entries are invited from print, online, broadcast, and social media journalists who have published work in English, French, or Arabic.

This year’s edition has a new category, “Best Re/Insurance Social Media Entry”, which recognises digital creators using social platforms to make insurance stories more accessible and engaging.

Other categories include Best Re/Insurance Print Entry; Best Re/Insurance Online Entry; Best Re/Insurance Broadcast (TV/Radio) Entry; Best Re/Insurance French Entry (Print, Broadcast or Online); and Best Re/Insurance Arabic Entry (Print, Broadcast or Online).

Entrants are to include their name, media organisation, the publishing/broadcasting date, a brief profile, together with details on their experience (50 – 100 words) and a photo.

Entrants can submit a published entry in either print, online, or broadcast (radio/television clip) in English, French or Arabic. Only one entry can be entered for each category and entrants must be journalists based in any African country.

The review period of the entries is 12 months leading up to the submission deadline date.

Award recipients will be recognised at an awards ceremony to be held alongside an industry event and will receive a complimentary invitation to the event (health and government restrictions permitting). The cost of travel and hotel accommodation will be borne by Continental Reinsurance.

The names and photos of the award recipients and the awards that they have won will be published in Continental Reinsurance’s literature and online channels to celebrate the achievements of the award winners.

Recipients may use their award titles for their own professional development.

Submission of entries closes on January 31, 2026.
