As Donald J. Trump took the oath of office as the 45th President of the United States, the Paris based freedom expression organisation, Reporters Sans Frontières (RSF), has called on its members and friends to ensure further defence of the values of press freedom whenever they are challenged.

RSF made this call in an electronic letter addressed to its members and friends on January 20, 2017 as President Trump was preparing to take oath of office.

“As we watch the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States, we all must vow to uphold our values as defenders of press freedom when they are challenged” the letter reads.

RSF also promised to hold President Trump accountable to the promises committed to in his oath of office.

“Today, Donald J. Trump will take the oath to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of [his] ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” We at RSF pledge to hold him to his promise,” RSF vowed.

RSF or Reporters Without Borders (RWB) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization that promotes and defends freedom of information and freedom of the press.
