The European Journalism Center (EJC) is now accepting applications for the Innovation in Development Reporting Grant Program (IDR). The programme aims to develop experimental and compelling storytelling on topics related to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The European Journalism Centre is an international non-profit body that connects journalists with new ideas. The Center carries out its work rough grants, events, training and media development.  It has been operational since 1992.

The programme aims to address issues in one or more of the world’s developing countries, ideally in the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), and/or their relations with key European donor countries. This round’s topic is opportunities for women, their lifelong learning, health, jobs, entrepreneurship or new roles in their communities.

Applicants from around the world are eligible, but their final stories must be published in media outlets with significant reach to audiences in the following European countries: France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and United Kingdom. Freelancers, staffers and media organisations are eligible to apply.

Projects will receive up to EUR20, 000.

Applications close on February 21, 2018.
