FOTODOC Center Accepting Entries for Documentary Photo Contest

download (2)The FOTODOC Center for Documentary Photography at the Sakharov Center in Russia is now accepting entries for its international photo competition titled “Direct look.”

The contest focuses on problems pertaining to relations among people, society and state, as well as ways of addressing these problems.

Entries must comprise a series of images representing reports, stories or long-term photography projects. There are three categories: “The problem,” “The conflict” and “The compromise.”

Photographs must have been taken in the past four years. All entry descriptions and image captions must be in English.

Three winners who will take the first place in each nomination will get 30,000 rubles. Nine finalists in three distinct categories will obtain honourable prizes of Direct Look photo contest. Winners series will be shown at the exhibition in October 2020. Projects included in the short-list will be printed in the photo contest catalogue.

Entries close on June 1, 2020.
