2015 Global Media Forum Holds This Month

The 2015 edition of the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum has been scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from June 22 to 24, 2015.    `

The Global Media Forum is organized by Deutsche Welle, Germany’s international broadcaster whose service has an international reach. Deutsche Welle broadcasts news and information on shortwave, Internet and satellite radio in 30 languages. The previous edition of the conference enjoyed a massive attendance and this year, it is expected that around 2,300 people from more than 130 nations will participate in the forum, including hundreds of journalists from around the world.

The forum draws people from the fields of media, politics, culture, business, development cooperation, academia and civil society and gives a good platform for networking. At the forum, approaches to meeting the challenges of global development in which the media play a central role will be discussed and designed. According to German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the Global Media Forum has become a yearly “must-attend” event.

All fees are given in Euros and include 19 percent value added tax. Registration fees are waived for members of the press. Students, trainees and NGOs would enjoy discounts on registration fees. Participants who apply for discounts would be required to upload proof of their status.
