The Hendi Centre Koloseum in Belgrade is inviting film entries for BOSIFEST 2022, the 13th Belgrade International Film Festival for and by people with disabilities. The purpose of the festival is, among others, to spread the message that people with disabilities should have the same rights and obligations as other citizens.
The purpose of establishing BOSIFEST was to indicate the creative work and opportunities of the participants on the public cultural scene, and to spread the message that the people with disabilities should have the same rights and obligations as other citizens. Moreover, the festival provides a strong incentive for the adoption of measures for equal participation and integration of the people with disabilities into society.
The festival, titled: work and life of the people with disabilities, consists of both competitive and non-competitive parts. Films that are not chosen for the competition part of the programme, and meet the requirements of the competition, will be in the non-competitive part of the programme.
There are three categories of the award: Best Film grand prix 2022 BOSIFEST, best director, and best-case scenario.
Eligible entries are documentary films dealing with the issues concerning people with disabilities with duration of up to 100 minutes. The film must be in English or with English/Serbian subtitles and must have been produced in the last 5 years.
The entry film must be sent by email no later than April 20, 2022 on Filmfreeway, Festhome, or link by email film@bosifest.rs or hc.koloseum@gmail.com.
BOSIFEST can use parts of the received materials for advertising purposes (up to 10 minutes)
Applicants also need to submit the following supporting material with their entries:
- Plot synopsis or textual expose lengths between 100 and 200 words
- Dialogue-list (if any)
- Two film captions or photographs of the filming process
- The author’s biography and photo
- Year and place of birth of the film author/authoress, occupation, place of residence and contact information (phone and e-mail)
In addition to the film submissions, submissions for the additional activities and workshops proposals are open. Workshops will be held during the BOSIFEST 2022 at the festival venue.
Applications close on April 20, 2022.
BOSIFEST is the International Festival of Documentary Film for and by persons with disabilities, the only one of this kind in the Southeast Europe. It will be organized this year for the thirteenth time in Serbia by the Hendi Center Koloseum. As in past twelve years, this year on the big screen a great number of films will be shown both in competitive and non-competitive part. So far visitors of the BOSIFEST had an opportunity to watch 500 films that had life of the people with disabilities as their subject or were created by the authors who are persons with disabilities.
In addition to film screenings, BOSIFEST offers additional programs in the form of workshops, panel discussions and roundtables.
