Hoodlums Invade, Loot Radio Station in Jalingo

The corporate offices of Rock 92.3 FM, Jalingo, the first FM radio station in Taraba State, was invaded by hoodlums who looted the station in the night of July 21, and into the early hours of July 22, 2023. According to one of the directors, Mr. Ahmad Gassol: “The hoodlums stormed our office premises, carting away several items, while the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ayodele Samuel, was in one of the offices. He was rescued unscathed by the Department of State Services (DSS) and Army personnel, who responded to a distress call.”

Items reportedly looted from the station situated at Malam Joda Area of Jalingo by the hoodlums include two television sets (43 inches and 50 inches), three Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) gadgets, and an eight-channel digital audio mixer.

Ahmad pleaded for public cooperation in recovering the looted items, saying they are critical to the station’s operations.

The invasion left the CEO traumatized.
