Hostwriter, an open network that helps journalists easily collaborate across borders, is inviting applications for its 2023 Hostwriter Prize, which grants €6000 in awards for collaborative journalism projects between members.
The Prize consists of two categories: the Story Prize and the Pitch Prize. The Story Prize recognises and awards collaborative projects that have already been published; three stories will receive €1000 each. The Pitch Prize awards €1500 each to two collaborative projects that have not yet been realized and intend to be published in the near future.
The deadline to apply for the prize is 31st August 2023.
The Hostwriter Prize was established in 2014 and is supported by an annual donation from the Otto Sprenger Stiftung, a foundation that honors the work of Otto Sprenger, a former unionist and employee of the NDR (a German public service broadcaster) who was committed to supporting young journalists, collaboration, and social engagement.
Hostwriter connects more than 6,800 journalists from 159 countries around the world to network with each other, offer help, collaborate on cross-border stories and find career opportunities. It believes in cross-border journalism as a tool that contributes toward better-informed and more accountable democratic societies as well as telling more impactful stories.
