The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) has put together a committee of leading media professional to help design a pioneering survey on the adoption of new technologies in the news media. The survey is expected to shed much-needed light on how news media professionals around the world are embracing the digital revolution.

To achieve this, ICFJ is also seeking expertise of journalists and media workers to participate in the online survey saying participants’ knowledge and experience are essential to the success of the project.

According to ICFJ, “the study will identify key trends shaping our business as technology redefines how we produce and distribute the news. We will highlight regional trends and discuss which technologies are having the greatest impact.”

ICFJ says it will produce a report based on the results and make the data available to all participants for their own coverage.

Survey participants may request additional data analysis from the principal investigator, Dr. Diana Owen.  The survey will take no more than 15 minutes to complete.

ICFJ promises that participants’ responses will be kept confidential. It added that while the data generated will be reported in the aggregate, no individual or organisation will be identified as their information will be treated with confidentiality.

Survey participants are eligible to enter for a raffle to win a $100 Amazon gift card.

The survey is available in twelve languages: Arabic, Bahasa, Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.

The survey, in English language is available for interested media practitioners at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ICFJEnglish. The study is backed by Storyful and Google News Lab.”
