IFEX Calls for Applications for African Regional Network Consultant

The International Freedom of Expression Exchange (IFEX) is calling for applications from qualified persons to serve as a consultant for an African Regional Network on Freedom of Expression. 

The major function of the consultant is to facilitate regional networking strategy development support to an emerging Alliance of free expression organisations in Africa. It is expected that the process will result in a strategic and an operational plan for the network and a defined coordination mechanism.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of and experience with networks and alliance building, strategic planning and institutional strengthening and experience working on human rights issues in Africa. Knowledge of the right to freedom of expression and; Knowledge of French and Portuguese are assets. The consultant will be based in Africa.

Interested applicants should provide IFEX with a proposal elaborating the approach to the assignment, including methodology, timeline and cost by August 14, 2013. The applicant should also include two examples of relevant work and contact information of two references for whom the applicant has conducted similar projects.
