ITU Appoints Dr. Bosun Tijani to its Digital Innovation Board

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies, has appointed Dr. Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, to the Digital Innovation Board of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development.

The Digital Innovation Board provides strategic guidance, expertise and advocacy regarding its mission of building critical local enablers and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in digital development to create a more inclusive and equitable digital future for all.

Reacting to his appointment, Dr. Tijani said: “I am delighted to be appointed into the Digital Innovation Board of the ITU as it offers me an opportunity to work with other notable leaders from across the world with a view to deepening Nigeria’s impact and shaping the future of digital innovation.”

Dr. Tijani and 17 other eminent individuals have been nominated in their personal capacity and based on their track record in innovation.

The ITU is committed to connecting all the world’s people – wherever they live and whatever their means. It has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland and it is made up 193 Member States and more than 900 companies, universities and international and regional organizations.
