International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will host the 2018 Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-18) in United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 29 to November 16, 2018.

The ITU Plenipotentiary Conference consists of the representatives of the Member States of the Union.

It is the highest policy-making body of the ITU and holds every four years. It is the key event at which ITU Member States decide on the future role of the organization and its ability to influence and affect the development of information and communication technologies (ICTs) worldwide.

The Conference will set the Union’s general policies; adopt four-year strategic and financial plans; and elect the senior management team of the organization, the Member States of the Council, and the members of the Radio Regulations Board.

The conference will be preceded by the last meeting of the 2018 session of the Council on October 27, 2018.
