The emerging Journalism Tech Alliance, spearheaded by Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD), the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN), and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), in collaboration with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), Big Local News, and the Pulitzer Centre, has launched a survey to gain insights into the requirements of various newsrooms and journalism organisations regarding data science, storage, and data processing.

The survey is intended for GFMD members, partners, and interested stakeholders, to gather input on the type of data work they are engaged in, the specific tools they host or run, the kind of data stored in them, the platforms used, and any significant cost centers for their organization. This is in addition to determining those interested in joining an alliance of similar organisations working to improve access to and reduce the costs associated with the use of computational and cloud services.

The survey can be accessed here.

The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete, but people are to feel free to share additional feedback in the comment boxes provided.

The deadline for responding to the survey is January 12, 2024. For comments or questions, please contact communications@gfmd.info.
