Mr. Jaafar Jaafar, publisher of Daily Nigerian newspaper, an online medium, has reportedly gone into hiding following series of the threats to his life he received after he published a report that the Kano State governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje was caught on camera allegedly receiving a $5 million bribe in cash from unnamed contractors.

Jaafar, in a two-part report, claimed a reporter for the medium came in contact with a secretly recorded video of Gov. Ganduje tucking wads of dollars in his agbada, a flowing robe.

Jafaar alleged that: “In one of the clips, this reporter watched how the governor, who appeared without a cap, took note of the names of contractors who paid the kickback and later tucked the bundles of dollar notes into his kaftan side pockets and trousers’ pockets.”

The journalist who confirmed the threat to his life added that he is in safe refuge where he is.
