On August 24, 2021 some persons suspected to be hoodlums attacked journalists who were covering a town hall meeting which was organized by Chief Obinna Ichita, a member of Abia State House of Assembly representing Aba South State Constituency with his constituents in Aba.
The hoodlums who were armed with machetes and other dangerous weapons stormed the venue of the meeting in five white Hummer buses and disrupted the meeting while the lawmaker fled on sighting them.
Several journalists suffered injuries while the hoodlums took over the venue of the meeting as policemen attached to the lawmaker also fled to safety.
