Mr. Amadou Mahtar Ba, Chairman, AllAfrica Global Media

Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, will host the 2024 edition of the AllAfrica Media Leaders Summit from May 8 to 10, 2024, at the Radisson Blu Hotel. The Summit will bring together over 300 African media owners and operators, government officials, corporate leaders, academics, civil society champions, and development partners to discuss the business of media and the critical role it must play in shaping Africa’s future.

The Summit with the theme: “Re-engineering African Media in Times of Critical Transformation” is aimed at addressing the critical role the media play in economic growth, social progress and improved democratic governance in Africa.

The Summit will feature conferences, round tables, open discussions, workshops and networking platforms and events and will be structured around six key pillars which include Africa’s Economic Transformation; Artificial Intelligence, Technology and Digitization; Regional Integration and Peace-Building; Disinformation and infox campaigns; Governance, Standards and Capacity Building; and Creating Sustainable Business Models.

In addition, there will be a Youth Challenge, a competition designed to develop innovations for the newsrooms of the future, and a public debate by young citizens.

One of the key moments of the Summit will be the Heads of States’ roundtable, an invaluable and unique engagement.

The AllAfrica Awards for Media Excellence will also be presented at the Summit. No participation fee is required from media organizations from Africa.
