McKinsey and Company, an organisation that helps its clients to pursue sustainability, inclusion, and growth, has opened applications for its McKinsey Forward Initiative in Africa, a free 10-week learning programme designed to help professionals, entrepreneurs, individuals, and organisations across the continent by strengthening leadership, digital, and problem-solving skills needed in today’s evolving economy.
Through practical exercises, collaboration, and access to global insights, the initiative aims to empower African talent to promote innovation, enhance organisational performance, and contribute to sustainable economic growth across Africa.
The programme is an engaged learning journey that helps participants think differently, build useful skills, and grow their confidence. Over ten weeks, learners spend around two hours each week on online courses, virtual sessions, practical exercises, and personal reflection. By the end, they earn a digital badge and become part of a global community of learners, creating new opportunities for connection, growth, and career development
Whether starting a career or controlling a new opportunity, the programme helps participants to expand one’s skill set and develop new ways of thinking. Participants will gain practical tools that they can apply immediately, build confidence, and grow their ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
The programme welcomes residents of Africa with some work experience or those preparing to start work within the next year. It is suitable for people with less than five years of work experience, with flexibility for non-profit or non-corporate roles. Participants should have completed at least a high school education or equivalent, and be comfortable learning in English.
Application deadline is April 20, 2026.
