The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has unveiled AFRICAST 2025, described as Africa’s premier broadcast and media technology event, which is scheduled to take place from October 20 to 24, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.
The event, with the theme: “Navigating the Digital Surge: Building a Resilient African Media Ecosystem for the Future,” is designed to drive digital innovation and strengthen Africa’s media landscape through high-level dialogue, technology showcases, capacity-building sessions, and policy-shaping conversations.
This year’s edition marks a strategic evolution for AFRICAST, offering a dynamic four-day programme that includes keynote addresses, panel discussions featuring renowned local and international speakers, hands-on workshops, and an immersive technology exhibition. Participants will also enjoy curated networking opportunities, gala nights celebrating industry achievements, and an exclusive tour of Lagos via the Lagos Blue Line, making the event both impactful and memorable for media professionals, policymakers, and investors.
According to the Director-General of the NBC, Mr Charles Ebuebu, AFRICAST 2025 is more than just a conference; it is a timely and strategic response to the rapid digital transformation reshaping the African media space. He emphasised that the event aims to harness technological advancements to enhance storytelling, content creation, and distribution, while also fostering meaningful policy discussions that will empower growth, innovation, and investment across the continent’s media ecosystem.
To ensure the successful delivery of AFRICAST 2025, the NBC has appointed Adeseun Oyeneye, Vice-President of Threesixty Africa Group, as the official Project Coordinator. Threesixty Africa Media will oversee project coordination, marketing, and sponsorship, while Cerebre Media Africa will serve as the official creative consultants. These partnerships underscore NBC’s commitment to delivering a world-class event that reflects the evolving needs and aspirations of Africa’s media and broadcast industry.
AFRICAST has long served as a vital platform where business, creativity, and broadcast policy converge. With expanded partnership opportunities, enhanced visibility for sponsors, and a renewed focus on innovation, AFRICAST 2025 is set to deepen its impact across Africa and beyond. NBC invites stakeholders, investors, and media professionals to participate in shaping the future of African media through this landmark event.
