The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) on July 5, 2026, summoned Mr Tega Oghenedoro, also known as Fejiro Oliver, the publisher of the online news platform, Secrets Reporters, to report to its office on July 8, 2026, on allegation of espionage, cyberstalking, and other computer-related offences.
The summons, issued by Olufemi Akinola, the Deputy Director (Operations) at the NPF-NCCC, directed Mr Oghenedoro to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police and Deputy Director of Operations, Olufemi Akinola, for an interview. The police accused him of leaking government information to foreign governments, even though the journalist is currently outside Nigeria.
Recall that on July 1, 2026, Mr Stanley Ugagbe, a senior reporter with Secrets Reporters, was arrested by armed men from the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Abuja from his residence in Jikwoyi Phase 2 and detained incommunicado. He spent six days in detention and was eventually released on July 6, while his phone and laptop, which were confiscated, were not returned to him
