A Nigerian youth, Mr. Bashir Abubakar, was on July 21, 2024, arrested and detained by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano for advertising T-shirts supporting the upcoming nationwide protests against economic hardship in the country tagged #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.
Mr. Abubakar was released on July 22 but the DSS ordered him to bring the T-shirts he printed advertising the planned #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria nationwide protest to their office.
