NSA’s Office Hosts Cybersecurity Forum in Lagos in June 2014

The Office of the National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan is convening a two-day National Cyber-security Forum in Lagos on June 18 and 19, 2014 to seek stakeholders input into the proposed National Cyber-security Policy framework.

The Forum, which will take place at Eko Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, has as its theme, “Towards Multi-Stakeholder Partnership for National Cyber-Security Engagement”.

The Forum is being organized by the Office of the NSA in partnership with Federal Ministry of Communication Technology, the Federal Ministry of Justice, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the Nigerian Communications Satellite and Galaxy Backbone.

Proposed speakers and resource persons at the Forum include Colonel Sambo Dasuki, National Security Adviser to President Jonathan; Mrs. Omobola Olubusola Johnson, Minister of Communication Technology; Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN); and Dr. M.B. Hammawa, an Associate Professor and Head of Department of Computer Science, at the  University of Abuja.

Others are: Hon. Bature Umar Muhammed, Chairman of the Committee on Internal Affairs at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly; Mr. Hakeem Bello-Osagie, Chairman of Etisalat Nigeria; Mr. S.L. Akinnusi, Director of IT in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; and Mrs. Funke Opeke, Chief Executive Officer of MainOne Cable.
