download (1)Plural+, in collaboration between United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as well as over 50 partner organizations around the globe, is now accepting entries for its youth video festival.
The Festival is to encourage and empower global youth to explore the pressing social issues of migration, diversity, social inclusion, and the prevention of xenophobia and to share their creative vision with the world
The Annual Event which launched in 2009 gives young people around the world the opportunity to express their vision and their creativity through multimedia production. PLURAL+ invites young people of up to 25 years old to submit original and creative short films focusing on the themes of migration, diversity, social inclusion, and the prevention of xenophobia.
Eligible PLURAL+ video entries are five minutes maximum and can be of any genre (animation, documentary, music video, comedy, etc.) as long as they convey a message that can contribute to making the audience think in constructive ways about the pressing social issues of migration, diversity, social inclusion, and the prevention of xenophobia. In addition, videos can be in any language as long as English subtitles are provided.
An International Jury selects three PLURAL+ Award Winners in each age category. In addition, UNAOC and IOM select one video to receive the Special Award for the Prevention of Xenophobia.
PLURAL+ award winners are invited to New York, all expense-paid, to participate in the annual PLURAL+ Awards Ceremony and in a series of side events providing opportunities for professional development, co-productions, and networking.
The competition is open to young people of all nationalities with a keen interest in the pressing social issues of migration, diversity, social inclusion, and the prevention of xenophobia. Entrants to PLURAL+ must be at most 25 years old at the time of the production of their videos.
Video should between one and five minutes in length, including title(s) and opening/closing credits (the PLURAL+ team will automatically disqualify any submission falling outside of this time restraint). Submitted video should not contain profanities or material that some audiences may find inappropriate or offensive.
To submit a video for consideration, interested persons must first complete the online registration and provide all of the required information. Incomplete submissions will lead to disqualification. Participants will need to specify their method of sending the video on the submission form.
