The Ogun State Police Command has invited social media commentator Ms Adetoun Bolanle Onajobi, popularly known as JustAdetoun, following her recent public criticism of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.
According to the police, Justadetoun has been officially invited to report to the police station for questioning over statements made in a viral video and online posts. The Command disclosed that the invitation followed complaints alleging that her remarks went beyond criticism and crossed into abusive and defamatory language.
In her outburst, Justadetoun openly accused Governor Abiodun of poor governance and misplaced priorities, claiming that the governor focuses more on partying and personal lifestyle while critical sectors of the state remain neglected. She further alleged mismanagement of state funds and made claims of personal misconduct, assertions that have sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms.
One of the most controversial points in her criticism was the allegation that Ogun State reportedly lacks even a single functional ambulance, a claim that intensified public debate and drew the attention of authorities.
While the police emphasised that citizens have the constitutional right to free speech and constructive criticism, they also stressed that such expressions must be done within the confines of the law, without resorting to insults, false allegations, or statements capable of inciting public unrest
