The International Academy, Research, and Industry Association (IARIA), a non-for-profit non-government organisation that promotes scientific and industrial interchanges between members of existing associations, is calling for submissions for papers for the second International Conference on AI-based Media Innovation (AIMEDIA 2026), taking place from July 5 to 9, 2026, in Nice, France.

IARIA is inviting submissions for papers and offering both onsite and online participation options to accommodate diverse contributors. Participants may attend in person or submit PDF slides or pre-recorded videos for virtual presentation.

The conference will bring together researchers, industry innovators, and media professionals to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the media landscape.

AIMEDIA 2026 will focus on the growing influence of AI technologies, including natural language processing, image recognition, and automated content generation, on news production, media distribution, audience engagement, and creative processes. The event is designed as an interactive forum for presenting cutting-edge research, discussing ethical considerations, and highlighting future trends that are reshaping the media industry and academic curricula.

Organisers say the conference will serve as a platform for network building, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas that could define the next wave of innovation in media creation, delivery, and consumption. Discussions and presentations will cover advancements in areas such as AI-driven storytelling, personalised content delivery, immersive media environments, and challenges related to trust, creativity, privacy, and ethics in the digital age.

AIMEDIA 2026 welcomes contributions from both academic and industrial participants. Submissions may include regular research papers, short papers, idea papers, extended abstracts, posters, demos, and specialised presentations. Proposals for tutorials and panels on emerging or challenging topics are also encouraged. All accepted contributions will be included in the conference proceedings and archived in the ThinkMind™ Digital Library, with opportunities for extended submissions to IARIA journals.

Topics of interest listed by the conference include AI in content creation, Impact of AI on media value chains and workforce, AI in media distribution and consumption, AI in music production, AI in film production, Interactive media and user experience (UX), AI in immersive media, AI for visual effects and processing in media, Aspects of trust, ethics, and bias related to the use of AI in media, Generative AI, LLMs and specialized AI-tools in the media value chain, and Trends and innovations in AI media.

The submission deadline is March 14, 2026, while accepted authors will be notified on May 4, 2026. Conference registration deadline is May 17, 2026, while the deadline for camera-ready manuscripts is May 31, 2026. Note that deadlines differ for special tracks.
