Rory Peck Awards 2013 Calls for Entries

The Rory Peck Awards has announced its 2013 call for entries for freelance cameramen and camerawomen who have risked their lives to report news and current affairs.

Entries are open for three categories which are: The Rory Peck Award for News; The Rory Peck Award for Features; and The Sony Impact Award.

It is required that all entries must have had their first broadcast (television, agency feed, and recognised online news publisher) between June 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013.

The Rory Peck Awards are open to freelancers from around the world and there is no fee charged for entries.

Deadline for submission of entries is June 3, 2013

The Rory Peck Awards is an award given to freelance camera operators who have risked their lives to report on newsworthy events. It was set up in 1995 and is named after the Northern Irish freelance cameraman Rory Peck, who was killed while reporting on the siege of the Moscow White House in 1993.The award is organised by The Rory Peck Trust. The Rory Peck Trust is now an internationally recognized organization that supports freelancers’ rights and enables them to work safely.
