On August 2, 2021, some persons suspected to be hoodlums attacked a Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) station called Amuludun 99.1 FM in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. They vandalised vehicles and broke glass doors and windows of the media house.

It was gathered that the station, located in the Akinyele Local Government Area of the state, came under attack from the hoodlums following an earlier raid carried out on the hideout of suspected criminals in the Sasa area.

The hoodlums, who were armed with cutlasses, machete, axes and other dangerous weapons destroyed property worth millions of naira during the invasion.

It is suspected the hoodlums embarked on reprisal against members of the Soludero Hunters, a vigilante group, which went after suspected criminals in the Sasa area.

One of the alleged criminals, who was said to have been fatally injured, later died in hospital. The death was said to have angered his colleagues, who believe that the Soludero Hunters had a post on the FRCN premises.
