The Club of Rome, a platform of diverse thought leaders who address global challenges through holistic approaches, is currently accepting applications for its 2024 Communications Fellowship. The six-month mentoring programme is aimed at increasing diversity in sustainability communications and offers a unique opportunity for early-career professionals from underrepresented communities and regions.

Successful fellows will work closely with The Club of Rome’s communications team, gaining valuable experience in conveying complex sustainability issues to broader audiences.

The fellowship includes working remotely, with one trip to meet The Club of Rome team. The fellowship offers stipends to cover living costs and work-related travel costs. Fellows will engage in various communication activities, including web publishing, media relations, event coverage, multimedia production, and social media management.

To be eligible, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in science or journalism, with experience in writing about sustainability or systems thinking for general audiences. Fluency in English, along with proficiency in multimedia communication, is required. Applicants must also demonstrate alignment with The Club of Rome’s vision.

While applicants from all countries are welcome, priority will be given to those from underrepresented regions in sustainability communications.

To apply, interested individuals should submit a CV/resume, a cover letter, a writing sample (up to 800 words) on a scientific or sustainability topic aimed at non-specialist audiences, and a letter of recommendation to Jobs@clubofrome.org by April 5, 2024, 23:59 CET.

Selected fellows will receive a stipend and 10 days paid leave, working Monday to Friday for 36 hours per week in the Central European Time zone. The fellowship is scheduled to run from July 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
