The Thomson Reuters Foundation, the London-based charitable arm of Thomson Reuters, a Canadian news conglomerate, is now accepting applications for its annual Trust Conference, which brings together world-leading experts, innovators, and activists to address global challenges at the intersection of media freedom, access to justice, and responsible, sustainable business practices.
The Conference will run over two days of panel discussions, fireside chats, presentations, and networking opportunities. It will serve as a platform to dissect issues threatening democracy, explore innovative solutions, and create meaningful cross-sector connections that enable the exchange of ideas and expertise.
This year’s agenda is packed with engaging content and inspiring speakers. Delegates will hear from media leaders navigating existential threats to journalism, policymakers, and business leaders balancing equity and accountability with innovation in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) era, and philanthropic pioneers working to safeguard democratic institutions despite a shrinking funding landscape.
In addition to the plenary sessions, the conference will feature expanded networking opportunities designed to maximise connections and strengthen collaboration. Participants will have the opportunity to meet new partners, engage directly with speakers, and take part in interactive elements that enrich the overall experience.
Participants will explore how to build resilience in democratic systems at a time of growing authoritarianism, shrinking civic space, and intensifying pressures on independent media. The Conference will not only highlight challenges but also empower positive action through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collective solutions.
The Trust Conference will bring together diverse and well-informed voices to confront some of the world’s most urgent challenges. Each year, delegates come from a wide range of sectors and backgrounds, ensuring that the event is enriched by the exchange of perspectives, shared learning, and the opportunity to forge meaningful new partnerships. This diversity is what makes the Conference a unique platform for collaboration and impact.
To foster a truly engaging and dynamic atmosphere in 2025, applicants are invited to share a short statement about themselves, their expertise, and their motivation for attending.
