The annual research event of mySociety, titled  The Impacts of Civic Technology Conference (TICTeC), will hold for the third time  on April 25th and 2017 in Florence, Italy.

TICTeC is the world’s only conference dedicated to exploring the impact that civic technology and digital democracy have on  citizens, decision makers and governments around the globe. Its primary goal is to promote and share rigorous and meaningful research into online technologies and digital democracy around the world.

The conference will discuss themes of engagement, participation, institution, social behaviour, politics, community, digital capability, communication and ethics relating to the use and study of civic technology. It will bring together individuals from academic and applied backgrounds as well as businesses, public authorities, NGOs and education institutions to discuss ideas, present research and build a network of individuals interested in the civic technology landscape.

The two-day conference provides the opportunity for researchers to present theoretical or empirical work related to the conference theme and also welcomes proposals for individuals to lead workshops or give presentations relating to the conference theme. Submissions should focus on the specific impacts of technologies rather than showcase new tools that are as yet untested.

mySociety is therefore calling for papers from those who are carrying out or have completed research on this theme and would like to present their work or proposals for individuals to lead workshops or give presentations relating to the conference theme.

Interested persons are to submit an abstract/proposal   of no more than 300 words no later than February 10, 2017.
