Transparency International (TI) is now accepting applications from young journalists around the world for the 2024 International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) Young Journalists (YJ) Initiative, which will take place from June 18 to 21 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

In its 21st edition, the IACC is seeking for young journalists with a passion for fighting corruption and a desire to report on social issues related to transparency, integrity, and exposing corruption. The conference titled, “Confronting Global Threats: Standing Up for Integrity”, will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania from June 18-21, 2024.

After participating in the conference, young journalists will be enrolled in the YJ Alumni programme which allows them to join Journalists for Transparency (J4T), a collective of more than 100 journalists and storytellers who report on issues related to transparency and corruption worldwide.

Journalists for Transparency offers grants for young journalists’ alumni to investigate corruption cases in collaboration. The grants are targeted at small-to-medium scale projects. The initiative’s objective is to encourage, enable, and empower young journalists to improve their investigative skills to expose corruption and the negative consequences it has on people’s lives.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants should be experienced journalists with a focus on social issues and possess skills in digital or print journalism, broadcast journalism, video production, photojournalism, and social media, specifically TikTok and Reels.

The ideal candidate must possess a strong drive to combat corruption and have a keen interest in gaining further knowledge about Transparency International, the IACC, and related issues. The candidate should be 35 years old or younger by June 21, 2024, and have fluency in the English language. All J4T/IACC YJ Alumni are invited to join the reporting crew.

Successful applicants will receive an economy flight to Vilnius, Lithuania, as well as 5 nights of accommodation at the IACC Hotel. The IACC will cover all related visa processing costs.

The application deadline is March 6, 2024. For more information, please visit https://iaccseries.org/call-for-young-journalists/.
