The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT World) has called for applications for its fellowship programme designed to develop, integrate and apply the skill sets of young talents from around the world.
The focus of the Fellowship programme is to reach people who want to get familiar with the perspective of TRT World, keep up with the changes in the media industry and improve their understanding of Turkish culture.
Fellows will join the TRT World Team from June 5 to September 1 2017, working in one of Turkey’s newest channels. They will also take intensive language courses during the programme.
The TRT World family says it is inviting journalists to take part in its journey in the international news landscape and meet its international team.
It says the Fellowship will appeal (to) 15 talents, including junior journalists and recent graduates who are interested in the opportunity of producing balanced news with a humanitarian focus.
Fellows will join a diverse group of individuals from around the world including journalists, editors, broadcasters, researchers and freelancers.
The programme is meant to build new teams and have opportunities in the News, Programme, Digital and Visual departments.
Selected applicants will spend three months (5th June – 1st September 2017) with the TRT World Team, in one of Turkey’s newest channels, which brings a distinctive voice to the global news landscape. There will be one period of intensive language courses during the Fellowship period.
The fellowship provides a travel scholarship, a stipend to cover the costs of living in Istanbul, TRT World accommodation, services and counseling.
Applicants must be native in the English language, be ambitious about journalism and in the early stages of their career.
The deadline for submission of applications is May 30, 2017.
