A radio station, Wish FM 99.5 and the Atlantic Television Network, both in Ozuoba, in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, were on February 21, 2023, attacked by unknown gunmen with explosive devices suspected to be dynamite. They also shot sporadically into the air during the attack.
The incident occurred around 8:40 pm and led to the destruction of some equipment and property in the facility which houses the two media outfit owned by a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinyere Igwe.
No life was lost during the incident.
When contacted about the incident, the spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, said she is yet to get any report, but promised to find out from the Divisional Police Officer.
