The University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University) in Johannesburg, South Africa is set to hold the 20th edition of the African Investigative Journalism Conference (AIJC) in Johannesburg, South Africa, from October 30 to November 1, 2024.
The AIJC is a three-day intensive investigative journalism conference held in late October/early November of every year with schedule for talks, panel discussions, master class, workshops and networking sessions with experts, trainers and renowned investigative journalists.
The Conference is Africa’s leading gathering of working journalists and showcase of the continent’s best investigative reporting.
Speakers for the 2024 Conference include Sam Sole, Pauli van Wyk, Ferial Haffajee, Charlie Beckett, Cheryl W. Thompson, Andrew Jennings, Gunther Wallraf, Brant Houston, Sheila Coronel, Sainath Palagummi, Stephen Grey, and Felicity Lawrence etc.
For the 20th edition taking place this year 2024, the Conference will include data journalism, cyber and crypto crimes, cultural art and NFT investigations, health investigations and safety of journalists.
